Refunds and donation policy
Charitable donations are generally treated as irrevocable gifts. This page sets out limited exceptions, how receipts work, and our 80G status in plain language.
Refunds
- Completed donations are normally non-refundable because funds are allocated to programme use.
- We will consider a refund or adjustment if you show a clear error: duplicate charge for the same transaction, wrong amount caused by a technical fault, or payment made in bad faith (e.g. stolen card reported by your bank).
- Requests must reach us within 14 days of the transaction, with transaction ID, date, and amount, via Join Us (subject: refund request).
- Refunds, if approved, are returned through the original payment channel where possible; timing depends on banks and gateways.
Donation terms
- By donating, you confirm you are authorised to use the payment method provided.
- Donations are used for charitable objects stated on this site (chiefly education and related seva), subject to board or trustee oversight and published transparency practices.
- We may refuse or return a donation if we have a legal or compliance reason to do so.
80G tax exemption and receipts
Registration status: Sanatan Kutumb will hold (or is applying for) registration under Section 80G of the Income-tax Act, 1961, as applicable. Until a valid 80G certificate number and our permanent account number (PAN) are printed on an official signed receipt, treat any automated download from this site as a provisional acknowledgement only—not a substitute for formal tax documentation.
How to request a receipt: After you donate, note your donation ID from the donor dashboard (when available) and write to us through Join Us with your full name, email, date, and amount. We will issue or verify receipts manually during working hours once backend processes are live.
Final certificate number, PAN, and registered address should be added only after confirmation with your tax counsel.
