Privacy and donor data

This notice explains what Sanatan Kutumb collects when you use this site, how we use it, and your choices. It is written for a static Sanatan kutumb ; when you connect live payments, your gateway will add its own privacy terms.

What we collect

Donation form: name, email, phone (optional), amount, currency, payment channel selection, and any message you choose to send.
Volunteer / contact forms: details you submit in those fields.
Technical data: standard server or hosting logs (e.g. IP, browser type) if your host enables them—we do not use this site to run third-party ad trackers.

How we use donor information

To acknowledge your donation and issue receipts (including 80G documentation when applicable and verified).
To share programme updates you opt into (email or messaging).
For statutory books, audits, and regulatory filings where required.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share it for unrelated marketing.

Local storage on this Sanatan kutumb site

The donate flow currently stores donation records in your browser's localStorage so the donor dashboard and receipt stub can work without a server. That data stays on your device until you clear it. A production site should replace this with a secure server and encryption.

Retention

We retain donation and contact records as long as needed for compliance, audit, and donor service, or as required by law. You may request correction or deletion where the law allows (some records must be kept for tax or audit reasons).

Your choices

To access, correct, or ask about your data, use Join Us and mention “privacy request.” We will respond within a reasonable time.
